What our support costs
We publish our rates so you can work out what this will cost before you speak to anyone.

A one-hour visit from a Registered Care Aide, where we can arrange one, is $68.00 per hour.
Statutory holidays are billed at $70/hour for Registered Care Aides and $110/hour for Licensed Practical Nurses. Caregivers are paid time-and-a-half by law on those eleven days.
All amounts are in Canadian dollars and exclude GST, which is added at 5%.
Most clients are supported by a Registered Care Aide. A Licensed Practical Nurse is involved only where care crosses into nursing scope, and usually in a supervisory and clinical role rather than as a separate daily visit — which keeps more of the care with the small, consistent team you already know. Preparing or reviewing a clinical Care Plan is charged at the Licensed Practical Nurse rate, either hourly or as a fixed amount agreed at the outset.
A remote consultation is coordination — the Support Plan, recent visits, scheduling. It is not clinical advice. Clinical questions go to the client's physician, to our Licensed Practical Nurse, or to HealthLink BC at 8-1-1.
What that works out to
Some common patterns of support from a Registered Care Aide, at the standard weekday rate. Invoices are issued every two weeks, so the right-hand column is the amount per invoice. GST is added at 5%.

A minimum two-hour visit from a Registered Care Aide is $115.50 with GST. A single hour of Licensed Practical Nurse time is $89.25. A one-hour remote consultation is $57.75.
Travel and out-of-pocket costs
Caregivers are not paid by you for travelling to or from your home. You are never billed for that.
Where a caregiver drives the client, or drives on the client's behalf — to an appointment, on an errand — two things are charged: the caregiver's time, at the hourly rate above, and the distance driven for the client, at the Canada Revenue Agency prescribed automobile allowance rate, currently $0.73 per kilometre. Parking, tolls, and ferry fares are charged at what they cost, with a receipt.
Anything bought on the client's behalf — groceries, prescriptions, household items — is reimbursed at cost.
Cancellations
We ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel a scheduled visit. A visit cancelled with less notice is charged in full. We waive that for a documented medical emergency, and in other circumstances where it is plainly the right thing to do.
Third-party funding
We are a private-pay service. We do not bill insurers, extended health benefits providers, or government programmes directly. We issue receipts, and clients seeking reimbursement through their own benefits can submit those.
Why the rate is what it is
A large part of what you pay for, with any home support service, is the cost of a caregiver's time. We pay our caregivers well above what home-care agencies typically pay, and that is why we can select excellent caregivers and keep them.
Continuity is a real efficiency, not only a reassurance. When a small, consistent team knows the routine, the preferences, and the layout of the home, more gets done in the same hour and fewer things get missed.
