1) Our commitment
MyOwnHomeCare Ltd. is committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to provide an inclusive online experience and to reduce barriers to accessing information about our services.
2) Accessibility standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Conformance is an ongoing effort, and some content may not yet meet this standard.
3) Measures we take to support accessibility
We take the following measures to support accessibility:
- Use clear structure and meaningful headings to support screen readers and navigation.
- Maintain colour contrast and legible typography for readability.
- Provide text alternatives (“alt text”) for meaningful images where reasonably practicable.
- Support keyboard navigation for core site functions.
- Design forms and interactive elements to include labels, focus indicators, and clear error messages where feasible.
- Use responsive layouts to support different devices, zoom levels, and text sizes.
4) Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may have limitations. Examples can include:
- Some third-party embedded content or plugins may not fully meet accessibility standards.
- Older or externally sourced documents (e.g., PDFs) may not be fully accessible.
- Certain images or media may not yet include complete text alternatives or captions.
If you encounter a barrier, please contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information in an accessible format.
5) Third-party services
Some functions on our website may rely on third-party services. Where we use third-party tools, accessibility may be influenced by the third party’s design and technical implementation.
ShiftCare: We may use ShiftCare for care management functions (for example, scheduling, visit documentation, or related client-service processes). If a ShiftCare-powered feature creates an accessibility barrier, please notify us and we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative method of access or support.
6) Compatibility and assistive technology
Our website is intended to be compatible with commonly used assistive technologies and modern web browsers. Accessibility can be affected by the combination of device, browser, and assistive technology you use.
7) Feedback and assistance
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience difficulty accessing any part of the site, please let us know:
- Email: info@myownhomecare.ca
When contacting us, please include:
- The web page address (URL) where the issue occurred,
- A brief description of the problem, and
- The device and browser you are using (if known).
We will make reasonable efforts to respond within 2 business days and to address accessibility barriers where feasible.
8) Alternative formats
Upon request, we can provide information in alternative formats (for example, larger text or a phone-based walkthrough), where reasonably practicable.
9) Continuous improvement
We periodically review the website and its content to improve accessibility. Updates may occur when we add new pages, change designs, or introduce new features.
10) Scope
This policy applies to the public-facing pages and content of the MOHC website, including coreinformational pages and contact forms. It may not apply to third-party services or websites we do not control.
